Preparations for PET-CT Scan
- Wear comfortable clothing and avoid jewellery or metal objects.
- At least 6 hours of fasting before the scan, but the patient can have plain water.
- Avoid strenuous physical activity or exercise 24 hours prior to the scan.
- Avoid diabetes medicine 6-8 hours prior to the scan.
- Lactating women to store her breast milk (Breast feeding can be done only after 24 hours).
- Carry previous PET-CT reports, CDs, medical records, recent serum creatinine and fasting blood sugar reports.
Note:
- It is advised to take an adult attendant. Children and pregnant women are not allowed to the centre as an attendant.
- You are advised to report 1 hour before the scheduled time.
